The Seven Hills Road will be closed for 12 weeks now instead of seven months, after residents made their fears known.
The original period of seven months was changed by Southern Gas Networks (SGN), who will be undertaking the work, to 12 weeks after spending many hours talking to residents about their concerns of extra traffic in the area, which would have come as a result of the road being closed.

A public exhibition is being held on Friday, November 27 detailing the plans of the controversial seven month closure of Seven Hills Road.
Being held at the Hilton Hotel, in Seven Hills Road South,Cobham, from 11am to 8pm, all residents are welcome to view the plans and ask questions about the closure.
The busy road is being closed from Monday, December 28, while Southern Gas Networks replace gas mains and a new main is laid.
Details about diversion routes while the road is closed will also be on display.
