Surrey police attended a road traffic accident involving a BMW and a cyclist in Plough Lane, Cobham on Friday (20).

A male cyclist was taken to the Royal Surrey Community Hospital in Guildford after being in collision with a black BMW coupe, suffering cuts to his face and a suspected fractured cheekbone.

Plough Lane was closed from 4.50pm until 7.30pm at the junctions of Pointers Road and Downside Road, while the scene was cleared.

Young lawyers across Surrey took part in a Hearts for Hearts Charity Quiz to raise money for CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) on Thursday (12).

The Young Surrey Lawyers group, made up of young solicitors working in firms in Walton, Cobham, and Woking held the event at Bar Ha Ha in Guildford.

A Hinchley Wood Sixth Former was so moved by a television appeal for blood donors he decided to arrange a special blood donation day at the school.

KC Park, 17, whose ambition is to become a doctor has signed up nearly 40 other sixth formers and school staff to donate blood at a mobile unit provided by the NHS National Blood Service.

Two cars collided in Manor Road South, Hinchley Wood, on Thursday February 5 at about 10am.

A silver Audi A3 was in collision with a grey BMW 316TI.

An 83-year-old man driving the Audi suffered minor injuries and was taken to Kingston Hospital.

The road was cleared by 10.30am.

Sandown Park is going to be hosting Simply Red this summer as part of their world tour.

The band will be performing songs from their Greatest Hits album live at the racecourse on Wednesday July 22.
